Meet Our Team

Tongue ties: does it hurt?

Repairing a tongue tie with Dr. Boloorchi—also called a lingual frenectomy—requires a CO2 laser, far less invasive than a traditional scalpel. This method means less bleeding, minimal discomfort, removal precision, and faster healing.

Anesthesia: is it safe?

Dr. Boloorchi administers anesthesia to patients in dental offices, and trains dental teams to handle medical emergencies in office. Her focus is to provide patients with the anesthesia they need to get their dental care safely.

Welcome to Niki Boloorchi, DDS

Dr. Niki Boloorchi’s goal is to educate, evaluate, and provide quality care for all patients—specifically in the areas of dental anesthesia and specialized laser dentistry. She is passionate about her work and loves to see patients thrive. As a result, she works with many dental practices throughout the Bay area.

Dr. Boloorchi focuses on mobile dental anesthesia, especially for children. She also provides successful treatment for tongue and lip ties in little ones to promote successful breastfeeding and excellent oral and physical health.

Combating Dental Anxiety in the San Francisco Bay Area

Dental phobia is a common condition affecting close to 40 percent of the adult population. In severe cases, this phobia may deter dental treatment, leading to tooth loss and even systemic health issues. Unfortunately, it can be linked to a traumatic dental experience in childhood. Fortunately, dental anesthesia, especially for invasive procedures or multiple treatments within a single visit, means positive associations for children from the very start!

Positive associations with treatment in childhood may lower the risk for dental phobia in adulthood. Dental anesthesia plays a crucial role in these positive associations.

Laser Dentistry Allows Children to Thrive

A tongue-tied or lip-tied infant has difficulty latching on during breastfeeding due to tight or tethered tissues beneath the tongue or upper lip, respectively. Left untreated, lip and tongue ties may prevent babies from gaining weight and meeting crucial milestones.

Dr. Boloorchi relies on CO2 laser therapy to gently untie your child’s lip or tongue through frenectomy. These are quick procedures that do not require anesthesia. The laser also promotes faster healing and more precise treatment compared with a traditional scalpel and sutures surgery.

Your dental specialist in Walnut Creek has advanced training in frenectomy treatments and has accumulated many hours of continuing education in tethered oral tissues. She studied at the Breathe Institute Frenectomy and also trained under Dr. Richard Baxter, considered one of the foremost experts in specialized laser dentistry.

A Commitment to Healthy Futures

When it comes to anesthesia and tissue tethering, Dr. Boloorchi aims to give patients, parents, and caregivers the ability to understand the risks and benefits and make informed decisions for themselves and their children.

Additionally, Dr. Boloorchi wants everyone she works with to understand the relationship between child development and oral function, including how feeding, sleeping, speech, posture, and breathing, are inter-related.
